About Me

CURRENT MISSION

For the time being, to meet travelers coming to Buenos Aires and try to help them make their stay here enjoyable and meaningful.

ABOUT ME

It's so hard to describe yourself. My hope is that more couchsurfers get to know me enough to fill in this space for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in London June/July 2007. Been hosting at home since.

Interests

Very fond of language and culture in general. Music is one of the primary ways in which I relate to and understand the world around me. Wish I'd know more about fine arts, but I'm trying to work on that.I love nature and the environment, and I love camping out in the wild. Very fond of human rights and social justice issues.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I like anything that's musically meaningful and artistic. Classical, art/prog rock, folk. Being a native 'porteño', I am also very fond of tango (just the music; I'm awful at dancing!). Also very keen on jazz, bossa nova, traditional popular/folk music (from Argentina and elsewhere, but not to be confused with profit-oriented 'World Music'), a bit of soul, etc etc

Favourite authors: Wilde and the Victorians in general, Hesse, Byron, Nietzsche, the German Romantics, Goscinny!! Among Argentineans, apart from obvious Borges, Cortázar and the like, I enjoy Sara Gallardo, Juan Filloy, Leopoldo Marechal, Beatriz Sarlo, among many others. Also enjoy reading history, linguistics, art, musical essays, philosophy, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An Evensong at Westminster Abbey, sitting in the Poet's Corner.
Cream tea at Chartwell with Chris Le Breton and Georgios.
Asturias.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, Uruguay
