About Me

Hi there! Today is your lucky dayyyeee!!! - You magically stumbled upon me! :)
Some of my friends call me Ms. World, others call me Mama Africa, but most call me Sunshine. I suspect it's because they can't pronounce my name, but they claim it's because I exude radiance, put people at ease, and bring out the best in them . Well, you'll never know which is true till you find out for yourself.....! ;)

I love people, learning, culture, and adventure. I have a passion for building bridges, empowering people, and helping communities develop. I enjoy seeking to understand different peoples, cultures, & perspectives; just having fun; relaxing; and occasionally doing nothing. ;)

I love children! Any opportunities to play with or teach children anything (especially songs or dancing) will be fantastic! I relish learning traditional songs and dances of the regions I visit, learning about and dressing up in their traditional clothing too.

People say I am a great entertainer, especially in diverse crowds. I'm sometimes referred to as "the life of the party". That must be because I'm totally OK with making a fool of myself. Life is too short not to genuinely enjoy every moment I can. I wasn't born to impress, or exist. I was born to live!
I really enjoy going to local gatherings, celebrations, or festivities. I do many different kinds of cultural performances , and usually glad to do so when abroad too.

I am originally from Cameroon, West Africa, but now live in San Diego, California.

I am really looking forward to a great time with some locals. I hope to learn a lot and give a lot! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like a chance to live with locals and experience the local culture. In my experience, when traveling, I have always gained much more by living with a local for a day, than by staying at a hotel/hostel for weeks. I feel more connected to the culture and gain a better understanding and global perspective this way.
