Overview
About Me
I'm a first grade teacher, and I'm currently working on my Master's for Language and Pedagogy (teaching language). My wife and I lived abroad in Ireland where she studied and I worked as a barista. Before that, I taught English in intercity schools in France. I have a passion for language and for teaching kids, and I know a lot of little songs and dances for kids---much to the chagrin of the parents whose heads become full of them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My wife and I can't get into our apartment yet in Toulouse, and we'd love to meet new people!
Interests
I am an avid Harry Potter fan and incorporate it into my classes one way or another. I walk/bike/run/bus almost everywhere I go. I grew up on the prairie but I've spent most of my adult life in a mountain valley where the hiking is excellent.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've lived abroad in two different countries.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach anyone French that is interested or about the influences of French on the English language. I love to learn about almost everything--different perspectives on life, different places, different interests than my own. I love to share in people's stories--where they come from, what their passion is.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a plethora of stories about living abroad--once in a non-English-speaking country and in an English-speaking country that was not America. I also know A LOT of cheesy jokes as I am an elementary teacher.
