I've wanted to travel my entire life. Since at least high school, I've dreamed of backpacking across the States, maybe even expanding beyond these borders. I've never really left the Midwest except for random family vacations as a kid and two mission trips (Haiti and Mexico). I long to see the wider world—and not from the eyes of a tourist.

I don't get many opportunities to travel, but when I do, I prefer to actually see the places I'm visiting. That means meeting locals and visiting recommended stops, not just watching the world from my hotel window.
I've hosted once and stayed with others twice.
