About Me
I just reactivated this account in 2016, the other day, and have never tried Couchsurfing before. I highly look forward to giving it a shot, leaving the Airbnb'ers and Hostel go'ers for my time in Chicago week.
This is always by far the hardest input field for, what I believe, anyone to fill out. The best way to describe me would be where I've been, what I enjoy doing, eating and reading. Who I've hung with, hang with and want to meet.
Lets start from the top shall we?
I grew up in St. Louis, MO, and officially "departed" my hometown in February of 2012. Due to a case of DRD4, I was drawn to Miami, FL. The beaches were great, people were friendlier than some may refer, and the food was spectacular.
My time was up in 2014 for Miami, and was just beginning in Charleston, SC.
The buildings are awesome, history is rich and the people are sweeter than the peaches that grow on the trees. I'd highly recommend checking out "Surfbar" on Folly Beach, "Bowens Island" on the connecter to folly beach, and taking a walk down King Street on a Friday night. Warning! People tend to get "sucked in" to Charleston, it is that awesome!
As happy and mesmerized by Charleston as I was, I longed for the mountains. I took the back way (South west) of South Carolina up through Greenville, also a great city. Hopping over to Charlotte, NC (All in one road trip btw from Charleston, SC), I stayed for about a month. Charlotte is a really corporate city, and I didn't find much to do there. Sure there are some parks, and the White Water Center, yet it's more of a pit stop city.
Seeing the mountains over the horizon was just to taunting for me, so I ended up moving to Knoxville, TN; visiting Asheville along my way through the Blue Ridge Parkway.
This is when I found the Web Development industry to be a calling for me! August - May I was a Team Treehouse student, learning Front-End Development. My plans are to work remotely for a start up I like, and travel all over while doing so. :)
I love Hiking, Rock Climbing, Museums, Botanical Gardens, Aquariums, Zoos, Book Stores, finding new places to travel to and things to do, try, taste, breath, sweat, experience..etc.
I also enjoy cooking, and singing, some times at the same time!
I have friends from all cultures, ages and backgrounds. From corporate to hippie, from american to martian, just kidding, I'm not that cool.
I love eating ANYTHING. From sushi to gelato, pulled pork to crapes.
As far as books go: Travel, History, Mythology, and fiction.
My goal is to live on a sail boat (Leopard 58 Catamaran), and sail to a different city every year, for the rest of my life. Kids maybe some day, home schooling them and having them volunteer through Museums, Art Institutes, Foundations, and more. I may get a few little houses here and there for recreational purposes.
