About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn, to love, to experience life in the fullest. Compassion, connection, and courage.

ABOUT ME
I am a restaurant chef, trying to retire from the restaurant business, interested in organic agriculture and sustainable living. Last year I quit my restaurant job, put all of my belongings in storage and spent 9 months traveling, WWOOFing and attending intensive permaculture workshops. Now I have returned to Carrboro to work until May, at which time my lady friend and I will be travelling to Guatemala.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since my lady friend and I are currently stationary in Carrboro, we'd like to make our home available to any good folks travelling through. One thing you should know: our apartment is a tiny one bedroom... and we don't actually have a couch. We have a blow up air mattress (which I slept on for weeks when I first moved in here, very comfortable) and lots of blankets and pillows.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I've only had one Couchsurfing experience, while traveling with a friend in the northeastern United States. Our host and his housemates were a pleasure to stay with. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about his experiences with Couchsurfing.org and WWOOF.

Interests

Food, cooking, wine, music, camping, hiking, literature, yoga, holistic nutrition, Eastern philosophy, mysticism, travel, and adventure. I am particularly interested in the cultures, traditions and spiritual practices of the Mayan people and other indigenous tribes.
