ABOUT ME

When I was little, I used to study the globe in our family room until I memorized every country and every capital (and, after a mega-nerdy 2nd grade project, ever national flag). Then in day camp, we played one of those games where you have to say the name of a place that starts with the letter the last place named ends with, and I would say far-off places like Lilongwe and Equatorial Guinea and everyone would think I was really odd. I'm still kind of the same.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I wish I were home more often to host couchsurfers...then again, no I don't! Because if I were home, I wouldn't be traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few surfers who have managed to catch me when I was home, and they've all been great. And I've stayed in homes from Waco, Texas to Istanbul, Turkey, and had positive experiences all around.

Interests

Languages, travel, foods I've never tried before, foods I've tried before but didn't like and think that I should so I try them again, hammocks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having lunch in a house-on-stilts in a river community in Pará state, Brazil...fishing with an Albanian restaurant owner at 6am just because I didn't believe the restaurant I was in caught their own fish and that was his way of proving it to me...talking reindeer with a Sami herder in northern Finland...
