To be occasionally able to venture out around home with the same openness as when I travel.

ABOUT ME

If you meet me when I'm traveling in the west, I'll probably be in my orange VW bus and most likely with my dog Griffith. And while the bus is in stellar shape, you never know when you might not make it to where you are going. The perils of older cars... Since getting a puppy in 2015, I've been more interested in trips I can take with my pooch. He's a well trained golden/aussie mix and a good boy.

I'm not certain what I'm going to do/create next, or even what I'm most passionate about at the moment. But if I manage to be out and about having new experiences and meeting new people, I suspect I'll find something.

I'm also solid with a pizza oven (built one in my backyard), strong with a frisbee, and an aficionado of good happy hours (Ideally dog friendly)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My friend who has had some really positive experiences couch surfing (both hosting and surfing) suggested I join up. I’ve hosted a few times, mostly frisbee players headed to a tournament. And when I travel I usually stay in my VW bus- but I would love to meet some locals on my road trips.

I'm also open to showing someone around the east side of LA occasionally. Just ask. If my day is free, I'll take you to a local place or three that you might not find on your own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I’ve hosted a few people, never been hosted. These days I road trip with my dog Griffith, so unless someone is open to a furry pooch, I usually camp in the bus or hotel. But the bus may break down… and I might put out a desperation post. Or just feel the desire to connect with some fellow couch surfers on my journey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've lived a pretty varied life. Professionally, I've acted, produced theater, created video for the agriculture industry, edited video, taught high school (Genetics, Econ and english), created school lessons from my archaeoastronomy grant, guest lectured at University of Arizona, rebuilt my apartment after a fire, acted as a landlord, and introduced new products for Apple. I've also traveled the world, took care of my mom through alzheimer's, and been a good friend to many. And I like to talk and share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I’m hosted, I love to cook- happy to take you out to a local happy hour (ideally dog friendly), and chat about pretty much anything.
