About Me

ABOUT ME
Social Entrepreneur. Craft Curator & Promoter. Photo-Storyteller. Mountain Village Dweller. Foodie. Loves the mountains, rain and tea.

A quintessential loner. Socially awkward. A hardcore backpacker - I like to roam around quaint lanes of old cities, trek across mountain villages, take naps in pristine meadows, sit next to gurgling streams, visit local fairs, have 'chai' at roadside tea-shops and try local food, document local recipes and learn about different cultures & traditions, in the company of my backpack and my camera.

I am a passionate advocate of Indian textiles, art, craft & traditional recipes. Quit the corporate rat race in 2010 to start a social enterprise (Follow IG: @thecolorcaravan) that works with weavers and artisans at grass-root level.

I am passionate about Food , Travel, Photography , Social Entrepreneurship, Skill Development & Livelihood Generation, Space Styling & Design. Other interests include Art, Organic Farming, Digital Media, Music, Start-Ups, Painting, Eco-Friendly & Sustainable Living. I have a thing for anything and everything rustic and vintage.

I quit the city life and moved to a mountain village in the summer of 2016. I enjoy a slow-paced country life in the lap of the nature and also work with the women of the villages here to empower them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every travel has been a wonderful & interesting experience for me. Every journey that I have taken has taught me something.

- Suddenly picked my backpack and went to the bus station with no particular place on my mind. Bought the ticket of a place that my heart told me at that moment and just went. Wish I would do this more often.
-Dived off a waterfall
- Waterfall rappelling
- Slept under the stars
- Rafted through rapids in Ganga
- Observed complete silence (no communication. not even through writing or eye contact) for 10 days
- Travelled sitting on bus-roof, bus steps, floor of corridors in train coaches, camel, bullock cart, milk-van, trucks.
- Stayed with the family of the man who owns the last tea-shop of India on the Indo-Tibet border.
- Been to the highest motorable mountain pass (18,379 ft) in the world.
- Trekked to a glacial lake (15,197 feet) with an injured foot. :P
- Solo Backpack trips
- Quit the corporate sector and city life to live my dream :)
