About Me

Hiya,

My name is Seung-Hyo and I moved from California to Paris to pursue my dream of living abroad. My goal is to visit every European country while I'm living here and meet new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet fun and down to earth locals. I want to share my travel experiences with people and learn from the experiences of others. I'm interested in learning about what it's like to be a citizen of your country as well as what day to day life is like for you.

Interests

Traveling, cooking, style/fashion, films, nomadic lifestyles, local culture and food.

  • culture
  • fashion
  • dining
  • cooking

  • hiking

Music, Movies, and Books

Arcade Fire, Kanye West, The XX, Lord Huron, Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, The White Stripes, The Black Keys, ZABA, Todd Terje, Sia, St. Lucia, Breakbot, Holy Ghost!, The Postal Service, LCD Soundsystem

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finished the 5 day hike to Machu Picchu which was also the highest I ever climbed (14k feet, 4k meters).

Kayaked through the karsts in Ha Long Bay and rode a scooter in the middle of Saigon.

I stood at the top of Angkor Wat and saw the stone faces of Prasat Bayon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach people about food and cooking; my grandfather was a chef and my mom is a great cook. I love to talk about quality, local food (I'm not a foodie though!!).

I want to learn about a city's culture from the locals themselves; I want to avoid stereotypical traveling and spend time interacting with people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Energy, excitement, and a willingness to try new things and meet interesting people.

I unfortunately can't house anyone right now as my apartment in France lacks anything other than a bed and it's only 25m2 or 250 sq. ft. I'll be moving to NY and LA in the coming year and I'll be more than happy to return the favor then!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
