I am still a travel junkie but also working on building my business and also simply enjoying my time here.

ABOUT ME

I am originally from Chicago - I have also lived in New York, L.A. and San Diego. I am currently based in Queretaro but don't blink or you will miss me. Ha....

I am happy to host most of the time but my place is a good 20 minutes from downtown so it is not an easy commute if you are coming without a car....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been hosting young travelers for over a decade now. First in New York, later Los Angles and now here in Queretero, Mexico. I also attend the weekly meetings here and have been attending the last few National events which are always great fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CouchSurfing experience, (GFL actually) was definitely the highlight for me. I made arrangements through GFL with a man named Elek Martin to stay with him for 3 nights in Budapest. I missed my connection flight and was several hours late. He waited for me; met me at his place which was a very large one bedroom baroque style apartment in the Pest side of the city. He was leaving with his family to go up to the country for the weekend, and he simply left the keys for me and said, "Have a great weekend". "We will see you on Monday". He invited me to use his bike and he was unbelievably gracious and kind. From that moment, I had an entirely different perception of the human race. That this man could show me such kindness for absolutely nothing in return was extordinary to me. And it continues to have a profound impact on me to this day. Thanks Elek.

Interests

Of course, I love to travel which should be true for everyone on this site. I am also into long hikes, biking and sailing. If I can do these things while traveling, even better.
