ABOUT ME
Creating new adventures is my new focus in life.
After working at a start-up for the last 3 years, I am taking some time to travel before returning to school full-time or go to work at some other crazy start-up. I was a support engineer and trainer for an electric car company, and I am passionate about improving the future of energy dynamics in society and culture.
I am now getting ready to go back to school, so I will be a poor student again - I see Couch Surfing becoming a bigger part of my life.
Though I work in the technical field, my true passion is gardening, plants and nature.
I am fairly quiet, and very respectful of other people's space - both personal and physical. Once I get to know someone, I tend to open up as much as the dynamic invites. I enjoy learning about a new place from the people who know it best...locals always have a unique perspective, and know the places to check out.
I enjoy nature and the urban landscape equally, I am just as comfortable admiring the social interactions of a busy subway station as I am hiking a 3,000 meter mountain. I want to explore different cultures and experience the places I have read about for years.
I like most kinds of food, and definitely want to explore new tastes when I travel. I enjoy preparing, cooking and eating food...heck I don't even mind the clean-up part.
Ok...enough rambling...hopefully this is enough to create some questions for you to ask me....
PHILOSOPHY
My decisions are usually guided by the following:
Creation or Destruction: Which do you choose?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate by interacting and sharing. I love to learn and evolve as I have conversations with people who may not share the same view, but enjoy a respectful dialog.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I was young, my father and I spent a year traveling the USA in a Volkwagen camper bus and hitch-hiking...I have always enjoyed the free-style experience of staying with people on my journeys. Now that I am free from the corporate world again, I want to get back to my roots and 'rough it' for a while...
Interests
I love to explore, to meet new people, learn about new cultures and push my comfort zone.
I am passionate about learning, and have decided to go back to school so I can carry out some research on my area of passion - How can we transform energy use in the world?
I spend my time traveling or hanging out with good friends now, soon I will spend all my time in class.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spending a year on the road with my father at the age of 3-4 was a foundation of who I am...I have many memories of that trip, and the life of adventure it began is precious. We traveled to 47 of the 50 states, and were able to see people at their best, opening their arms to a young father and his son on the adventure of a lifetime.
