About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live long and prosper

ABOUT ME
Retired from working in July 2021 and now traveling full time.

Update: Living in Bangkok full time as of January 2022.

Well traveled having visited 57 countries and lived in 4.... Adventure seeker with a heightened sense of curiousity. I dive right into everything I do, including traveling. I've been known to drop everything and book a flight to some random place on a moments notice. I stop to help tourists looking at maps in my home city (San Francisco). I talk with stangers in coffee shops because I'm curious about what makes them tick and if there's anything I can learn. I'm the 2nd oldest of 4 children, so I guess that makes me an overachiever, which I probably am.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is one of constant introspection and improvement. Only if we are willing to closely examine ourselves and our behavior and be willing to make positive changes can we realize our full potential. I love the quote from Socrates: "Widsom is recognizing the depths of one's own ignorance."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My plan is to facilitate cultural exchange by hosting people from around the world here in San Francisco. Likewise, I would like to have authentic, local travel experiences seen through the eyes of locals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted dozens of CSers and I have surfed in several countries including Germany, Poland, and UK.

Interests

Basketball, baseball (go Giants!), rock music, bike riding, restaurants, sightseeing, reading business books, drinking on occasion, car racing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into bands such as Vampire Weekend, Muse, Radiohead, Mumford and Sons, MGMT, Nine Inch Nails, Arcade Fire, Cold War Kids, Weezer, to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most serene Ive ever had was taking a 7 day white water rafting trip throught he Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. When the river is calm, you hear the blackest silence known to man. However, as you traverse the white water rapids, you are reminded of nature's raw power.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have an MBA, so I can help teach basic business skill such as:
Finance
Management Accounting
Business Law
Macroeconomics
Organizational design
Management and Leadership
