About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to meet new people and see new places outside of the normal tourist track.
ABOUT ME
People have described me as a real "fun seeker". I am almost always down for a silly, dangerous, or embarrassing adventure. I teach nine year olds, and we all have fun. I think that might say it all.
PHILOSOPHY
As stupid as this sounds, I am firmly rooted in the philosophy of treating others the way you'd like to be treated. I try to teach many different aspects of respect to my students and it always comes down to this basic principle.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am brand new, but I look forward to meeting other travelers as they visit the lovely city of San Francisco. Meeting people abroad and connecting in this way has been the best way for me to experience other cultures.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never officially couch surfed, but unofficially yes! I will never forget celebrating the baptism of my friend's baby in Guatemala in her home. We gathered, and danced and watched them kill, pluck, and cook the turkey! It was such an honor to be invited into her home for such an event.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have been reading a lot of Kurt Vonnegut and Tom Robbins in the last couple of years.
Of the movies I have seen recently I have really enjoyed Eternal Sunshine, The Squid and the Whale, The Motorcycle Diaries, and The Science of Sleep.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Observing the 2004 Presidential elections in El Salvador.
Seeing South American citizens receive free eye surgeries in Venezuela. Working with a women's fair trade cooperative in Guatemala, and seeing how far hard work really can go.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to teach. For anyone who is thinking about teaching English abroad, I am an expert in teaching English. I have a dog, and I am really a great dog walker. A skill I could offer happily if I were to sleep on your couch.
Countries I’ve Visited
Argentina, Australia, Belize, Cayman Islands, Chile, El Salvador, Mexico, Venezuela
Countries I’ve Lived In
Guatemala, United States
