I am currently employed at a Japanese media company. Aside from my job, I am also a representative of a non-profit organization called Globe Project. Our mission is to help solve societal problems through sports, sports education and study tours. We aim to propose new ways of thinking about social issues. We have hosted a total of 90 sports events with 20000 participants, and have raised 700 million yen (as of September, 2014.) in donations. We use this money for two things. One is to clear landmines fields from an area equivalent to 99 football fields. Second, we use the money for child victim of The Tohoku earthquake. We take them to see the match of Japan national football team, hoping them keep having their dreams to become a pro football prayer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEXvVi-3e-k I traveled all over the world for one year in 2005. This trip was first time for me to see the social problems like poverty, refugee, conflict, H.I.V. I learnt that I could not say my lifestyle was indifferent from those problems. My act was potential trigger of those problems. I wondered that under severe situation, what dream children have. Hence I asked children about their dreams. It was not different from Japanese children. Their answer was same, which was sport player. Children were playing the sport even in the area-of-conflict belt and also in the village of poverty. I would like to solve social problem through a sport. This experience is a starting point of the present activity.
