About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn about many different cultures by living in different countries and meet lots of nice people along the way
ABOUT ME
I am probably one of the only couch surfers that have got bitten by a tiger. Long story and you have to invite me to sleep on your couch to hear it. I was a zookeeper, and then decided to join the Peace Corps. I spent two and a half years in Nicaragua, working in a small agricultural community and loved every minute of it. Now I am teaching english as a way to continue living and working abroad.
PHILOSOPHY
If its not fun, why do it? Ben and Jerry
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted so many amazing people during my time in Japan. I have had so much fun cycling, doing karaoke, going out for dinner, enjoying great conversations and relaxing with couchsurfers on the beautiful island of Ishigaki for two years. My time in Ishigaki is ending, but I look forward continuing to participate in couchsurfing wherever I end up next.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted many people, but only surfed other people's couches two time. Most of my experiences have been really great. The people I have hosted, have made my time in Ishigaki that much more interesting. Its great to see that there are still people in the world interested in helping and meeting others for nothing in return but good conversation and sharing of experiences.
Interests
I love hiking, running, triathlons, cooking, eating whatever good stuff I make, drinking beer, horseback riding, and spending as much time outside, as possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living for two and a half years, in a rural farm community in Nicaragua and actually felt as though I was a member of the community. I planted my own beans, patted out my own tortillas, cut coffee, milked cows, but never killed a chicken. And while I lived in Boston, my best friend was a giraffe.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love meeting new, interesting people. I have lots a cool stories to tell, and fun experiences to share and I would love to hear other people's stories and to learn from them.
