About Me
I was born in Kenya but have lived in Leicester for a big part of my life. I am currently living in Manchester .
My profession is in Teaching .I love sports and adventure, anything active like mountain climbimg ,hiking etc , however my passion is yoga. I am happy to do yoga anytime of the day .
Forming new connections with people from all over the world has always been a big part of my life. I am very easy going and can strike up a conversation with everyone I meet. Meeting new people from different countries and cultures is an exciting opportunity to share and broaden knowledge and interests.
Travelling is what I enjoy and have done so since a young age. It is great seeing the beaches and staying in hotels but for me it is also important to see the authenticity of the country I am in. Therefore, I always make an effort to fully immerse myself in the local culture.
My extensive travel has taken me to places as diverse as Thailand (Phuket), America (Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando), Portugal, The French Alps, Italy and The Middle East . Being my favourite country, I have visited Spain more than anywhere else in Europe. Whether it be the road trip I took from the North to the South, visiting Madrid and Barcelona, or working as a chef in Ali Cante, the country never fails to leave me wanting more. Travelling has extended my knowledge and interest in meeting people from different cultures, and has given me many experiences and stories to share.
My home is open to international students and business visitors on Homestay so I have hosted students from China, Valencia, Germany, India, and The Middle East. The main reason I do this is because I enjoy meeting new people and helping them to improve not only their English speaking skills, but also welcoming them as part of the family and educating them on the culture of my city.
In my spare time, I am learning Capoeira, a Brazilian martial arts, and teach swimming on a private basis. I also practise yoga and pilates and have a keen interest in alternative medicine. I am very passionate about keeping and looking healthy, hence I cook a lot and try to use freshly prepared ingredients as much as possible. I also enjoy going to the theatre, Phantom of the Opera being my favourite production, and listening to music; I am excited to be going to see the world class pianist, Einaudi, soon. I am fluent in Punjabi and Hindi and have a basic grasp of the Spanish language.
