About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To witness the awesomeness of those around me
ABOUT ME
Just another smile.
I love music. A plant doctor once told me in the Northern Jungles of Peru, ¨Music is the key (to healing)¨ I wholeheartedly agree. I will play anything. My current passion is tribal music - african percussion and modernized didgeridoo. I love to design and build my own instruments.
I love movement. Martial arts, contact improv, running, clowning around, bodywork.
I love to create and witness creation. Sketching, painting, writing, poetry.
I like to be of service to those around me. Life is easier when we all take a moment to consider ourselves and our actions and how we impact those around us - both close and far. I like to help where I can or point towards someone else who can do a better job.
Laughing is really important to me.
I think you should know that you are beautiful.
PHILOSOPHY
Be open to all possibilities.
Generate and practice awareness.
Be willing to put things down that do not serve you.
¨The end of all this is sure. Have heart.¨
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I have a couch, it is open. My life and travels have hinged on meeting people willing to share their homes with me. Often I do not have a place of my own, thus cannot always help out with a couch or floor or bed - but I bet I know someone who can.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of reading. Too much to make note of.
Love all music. Especially jazz clubs at 2 a.m. and all night dance parties.
Not much of a movie guy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One morning in Archidona, Napo, Ecuador, some friends and I woke at 3 a.m. to get out to a nearby indigenous kichiwa community (Nueva Esperanza) for an early morning guayusa (traditional holly leaf tea) ceremony. Normally at these ceremonies, the community members come together to share their dreams, sing songs and discuss life. After several gourdfulls of guayusa and some songs from the community shaman, I was asked to play my didgeridoo. They freaked out! Jiving, laughing, staring. Soon they asked to lay down and have me play on them. ¨Did a shaman teach you to play this?¨ ¨Do you have special magic lungs?¨They asked in kichiwa and spanish. Then they asked to try and play. The best was watching their eyes light up when they finally got it!
There I was in the jungle, in an indigenous community where folks speak an ancient language having questions translated into spanish for me which I translated into english in my mind... yet the music needed no translation. It simply was what it was. The sounds crossed all barriers. We could understand each other perfectly.
I witnessed magic.
