ABOUT ME
I like to think that I'm pretty easy going, respectful, open-minded, fun, and friendly. I like exploring new places and meeting new people. People watching and taking in my surroundings is always nice. One of my goals whenever I travel it to draw at least one thing that I've seen or experienced. I like to be active and outdoorsy whenever I can. My latest adventures include: learning how to scuba dive, rockclimbing, and swing dancing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like to get coffee with people who are traveling through my town. I wish I had a couch or room to offer, maybe someday I will. When I travel, I like to couch surf when I have a friend who is willing to do it with me (If I tell my friends I'm CSing alone, they get worried and freak out. So I don't CS to give them calm, but maybe one day I'll solo surf).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I went backpacking with a friend in Europe after graduating from college. We did the whole hostel thing, but thought we'd give couchsurfing a go at the end of the trip. My friend created an account and found someone nice enough to host us in London! Our host was very accommodating and even had 3 other surfers staying at her place. She had great advice on what to see and what to skip. She also had a bunch of travel books and maps that previous surfers had left for other surfers to use. It was really nice meeting new people and meeting someone local. You don't feel so much like a tourist anymore. It was a great experience =)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I biked across the United States with 33 other people in just 10.5 weeks, and we built houses along the way. That was pretty cool.
I also traveled across China and saw the western most fortress of the Great Wall. It was really amazing to see a part of the wall that looked nothing like the photos that you normally see, and to know that this part I was looking at is connected to wall in Beijing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not knowing a language doesn't have to be a barrier to communication. Body language and hand gestures are very expressive and can help immensely.
