ABOUT ME

Us: We often travel together, so we made this page for the two of us. (Kristin Shade and Lyndsey Hewitt) We're really outgoing together and make people laugh. We've been best friends for about 6 years and share pretty much everything. Our birthdays are even only 6 days apart. (We're both currently 19, we'll both be 20 in February) We enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new things and places.

From Pennsylvania. I work at a movie theater and I have for 3 years. I'm currently working on my art portfolio for the art program at my university. I love painting and creativity. I'm studying French. I'm a huge animal lover and especially love my dog Jude that we rescued over a year ago. I'm outgoing and I love going on any sort of adventure. I love birds, trees, and nature. I drink a lot of tea and listen to a lot of music. I'm an easy person to get a long with and I have a goofy personality and sense of humor which mostly only Lyndsey understands. I love meeting new and exciting people. I'm fun and I might be able to make you laugh!

I'm a natural born redhead that grew up in Iowa, but have lived in Pennsylvania since 2002. Most of my family still lives in Iowa, so I'm very used to traveling long distances on a semi-regular basis. I absolutely adore traveling. I'm currently studying Journalism, Spanish and Art (photography/Graphic design) ...and hope to apply all of those things to traveling. Photography is a great passion of mine and so are movies. They are probably my main hobbies. I consider myself to be a light weight "movie buff". Some favorite movies include American Beauty, Fight Club, anything by Quentin Tarantino, scifi thrillers and old horror movies. I have worked at my local movie theater and Blockbuster due to my love of film. I also love cats. I have a cat named Bruce who I love dearly. I have a boyfriend, Matt, who I've been dating for about a year. Kristin is my best friend and we often travel together. We both go to college at Lock Haven University, a small university in central PA. We like to travel not only for the love of it of course, but it also gets us away from this small town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Within the next year we're going to be doing a lot of traveling in Europe. From France, to England, to the Dublin, Ireland area. We'd love new faces to meet along the way and possibly a couch (or a floor?) to sleep on in Dublin.

Help us out and we'll most definitely return the favor if you ever come to Pennsylvania :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snorkeling in the 2nd largest coral reef in the world, Kayaking in lagoons, staying in cabanas in Mayan villages and sleeping with bug nets, climbing Mayan ruins, exploring botanical gardens, zip-lining through the forest of Mexico, swimming in cenotes (underground rivers), cave exploration, weaving hammocks and playing basketball with Mayan children, and cleaning up polluted beaches.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lyndsey: I would like to learn how to paint.
I enjoy digital photography but I also know how to develop my own photos with film which is becoming a lost art.
