About Me

My wife and I started surfing couches and hosting travelers in 2008, while we were living in Malaysia, even before Couchsurfing.com was well-known, and through the www.travellersfortravellers.com (with double Ls) platform which is already down, unfortunately.

We both love traveling and socializing with people, especially those from less-known origins and cultures.

It's not nice to talk about my/our positive characteristics, and I recommend you read our reviews instead, but just for the sake of familiarization, Maryam and I are friendly and honest. People trust us very fast. I'm an introverted guy, while Maryam is an extrovert.
I love culture, history, psychology, and almost all types of human sciences. Almost the same applies to Maryam.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is a travel between 2 worlds. One is short and ending, and one is infinite and never-ending. The first one is a preparation for the latter one. And I'm going to prepare myself. One of my mediums for this purpose is CS and traveling the worlds of people I can encounter and meet during my preparation period, not just the earth. For that, I need close relationships, even if they're short. And for that closeness, I need to live with them, even for one day. I hope I'll be a good companion for everybody I meet, both my guests or my hosts.

Would you like to stay with us as a CS? We love knowing and hosting new friends too.

BUT FOR BETTER MATCHING, PLEASE READ OUR "HOME INFO" COMPLETELY BEFORE SENDING A REQUEST.

Although we don't expect to tailor your request per host, we won't respond to the blind copy-and-paste requests, because we're on CS for making friends and cultural exchange, not as a hotel only.
The cost of CS for us is more than its savings on accommodation or meals because we mostly are hosts rather than guests, and we love and enjoy it. But it also makes us a little sensitive about who we host or even whose guests we would be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As mentioned, I started surfing couches in 2008, even before knowing Couchsurfing.com. I used to utilize the www.travellersfortravellers.com (with double Ls) platform, which is, unfortunately, already down.

We have wonderful couch-surfing experiences in Indonesia, Singapore, France, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Austria, Emirates, and Egypt. We never forget those beautiful experiences.

We also hosted different people from some countries such as Australia, Ireland, Mexico, Chile, England, Germany, France, Hong Kong, Spain, Poland, Malaysia, Belgium, Russia, India, Turkey, Greece, Morocco, Egypt, and more. All of them are good friends and some visited us more than once.

We love hosting people for cultural exchange. It's not just a hobby, but a mission in our life.

Interests

Traveling, reading books, discussing social and cultural topics, riding, climbing, swimming, and visiting places and people.
We love talking to people, especially in authentic places such as villages and off-the-beaten-path places.
