ABOUT ME
My name is Shahan, and I've lived in California for my entire life. Since I've lived nowhere else, I'm sure I take its beauty for granted - I'm looking to change my perspective on the world as much as possible! I will be graduating with an Environmental Engineering degree in June, but a current goal I have in my life is to make sure that nothing is too secure. I want adventure, hard decisions to make, new experiences, and friends along the way to share it all with.
PHILOSOPHY
Your thoughts and attitude influence and often directly reflect your reality. I try to live my life in each moment that I possibly can. I meditate relatively often, and treating people with respect and the way that I would want to be treated is essential to not only friendship, but coexistence in general. I'm a big fan of the English philosopher Alan Watts. To give you an idea of his philosophy, here's a short video that encompasses some of his thoughts:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to couch surfing, but as soon as my living situation does not include a large number of people I will be more than happy to open up my couch to travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am currently looking for my first couch somewhere near Rio De Janeiro, Brazil!
Interests
Music. Jazz and Funk are awesome. I enjoy playing the guitar, piano, and saxophone.
Science and the future. Our world has such drastic changes coming for it in the next 50 years, I find it hard not to be absolutely thrilled with the opportunity to learn about it.
Cooking.
Yoga.
Basketball.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen and taken a canoe along the Jeita Grotto in Lebanon, a huge cave that spans nearly 6 miles. Also in Lebanon, I have visited Khalil Jibran's house (a famed philosopher and writer) which was a humbling experience.
I've been skydiving twice and been the pilot of a small, single engine plane!
