About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To have been to all capital cities of the world before I die - unless I die young in which case that's probably not possible.
ABOUT ME
Greetings! I'm Elina from Sweden, and, if I may say so, I'm an entertaining person who easily gets along with most people. I was born in Sweden and have remained there until this very day, but will soon be shipping off to the mighty land of the Scots (read: Scotland) to get educated and hopefully set the foundation for a financially secure future. I'm hoping to become a psychologist one day, as well as a sushi-chef; it's either one, really.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that as long as you fully engage in what your doing or seeing - with all your consciousness and being - everything can be made wonderful, and all encounters and situations can enrich your life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participate in the CS project by trying to couchsurf in as many countries as possible and not being afraid of contacting different types of people. I think openness and friendliness are the best ways to make this experience the best it can get.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've actually only ever couchsurfed once, in London: it was me and a friend of mine who stayed over at three Turkish guys' apartment for three nights, and it was a very fun experience. Since I'd never done it before I was a tad afraid that something might go wrong or that we'd not get along with them very well, but they were all very friendly and funny so it was quite the success.
Interests
I like working out (especially jogging), and I love the sea and swimming in it; I'm interested in buddhism and mediation, in vegetarian cooking and fashion; I love to eat and has recently discovered a genuine interest in cooking for others. I am interested in music as well and I guess you'd refer to me as someone who listens to basically anything thrown in my general direction.

Music, Movies, and Books
Standing by previous statement, I'll say there's no red line describing what type of music I actually listen to, but here is some:
M.I.A, Shout Out Louds, David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, The Arcade Fire, Ice Cube, The Smiths, Snoop Dogg, Belle & Sebastian, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne, Beyoncé, Ludacris, Brainpool, Björk, The White Stripes, Cee-Lo, Kelis, the Mitchell Brothers, N.E.R.D, etc.
Can't really tell which movie is my absolute favourite, though I do really love "Ghost World", "Cabaret" and "The Shining".
Same goes for books, really; am currently reading Irvine Welsh's "The Acid House" which I really enjoy, I love the Harry Potter series, am actually quite the big fan of Oscar Wilde and A.M. Homes as well as the guy who wrote the "Book Thief" though I can't remember his name.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
That must've been when I went hiking in the Swedish mountains with my dad a couple of years ago, and we've come quite far up; I look around me, and all is quiet except for the sound of our breaths, and I see these mountain-tops surrounding me on all sides like some sort of gigantic forest. We had to cross this glacier to get to the other side, and it was just such an amazing experience. The coolest thing I've done in my entire life, I think.
