About Me
Hi there! My name is Shakila, a 26 y/o moonchild.
A good friend of mine once described me as someone who loves food, the dunes and the fog, and I couldn't agree more! She also said that I often stumble/trip over my foot and that you will probably find me babbling and rambling all day about how beautiful everything and everyone is. This might be true as well. I really like to walk through nature with my analog camera, perhaps to the forest or the park near the university, eventually sit down and read/write/sketch. On almost every sunny and warm day during the summer holidays you will find me in one of my favorite swimming spots in Utrecht.
I'm currently living in Utrecht (Netherlands), and working as a part time researcher at Utrecht University. I studied Social Studies (with specific interest in gender/postcolonial/conflict studies), but I’m taking a break until I start my masters.
When I was studying at UVic (Victoria BC, Canada) in 2018 and I hosted some of my first CS’s there!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
(Hitch)hiking and tentcamping in the Rockies of Canada with minus 25 degree C.
Furthermore, I did the Dorsale del Triangolo Lariano trail (2-3 day trekking in the mountains between Como and Bellagio) in Italy with extreme weather conditions (storm and thunder). Although not very safe, I had the best views and most wonderful experiences throughout the whole trip!
