CURRENT MISSION
Settle into life in Kauai, and explore as much of this island as possible! I moved here for a year (or who knows, maybe more) and am so stoked for island life - hiking, swimming in the ocean, and living closer to the Earth.

ABOUT ME
My name is Shalini and I'm trying to figure out life a little bit with every plane/ train/ bus ride I take to some new place. I'm currently working for a year in Kauai with a nonprofit dedicated to sustainability. I'm a lover of lively cities, peaceful mountain tops, open minds, and quality pizza. I'm very friendly and easygoing and would love to meet new friends!

PHILOSOPHY
Mindfulness - living intentionally, being grateful and finding joy in just living
Optimistic realism - what I see as the best way to work towards a better future for our planet
Close relationships - so much of me is in my family and friends who I hold very dearly. I love meeting new people, but what I'm really looking for is people I can get close to.

I like hiking, camping and almost anything else out in nature. I'm an environmentalist and am really interested in climate change and water issues. I also like cooking, yoga, eating, seeing new places, and meeting new people.
