I'm Shammai, but if that's hard for you to remember there's an array of nicknames to chose from to make it easier. I'm very tall which generally leads people to believe that I am very athletic, but my best sport is napping.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well when I first heard my mom mention that her friend does couch surfing I Imediately pictured myself standing on couch cushions and riding down a giant slide which lead into one of those huge ball pits. Sadly I've come to realize this is not what it's about, but I enjoy traveling, getting to know new places, and meeting new people.

I've learned to appreciate just about all types of music due to my mothers world music collection, my dads tribal CDs and his obsession with Michael Jackson and James Brown, my grandmothers gospel cassetts, my older brothers music phases whether it was System of a Down or E40, and the many burned CD's from friends ranging from radio pop to dub step.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught the kids in my German Kindergarten how to say "push me please". They loved the swings and I wanted them to work a little for the enjoyment of my pushing them "ganz GAAANZ hoch!"

Well one day I walked out into the garden to hear a chanting. First it was "SHAMMAI!!!" But after the kids saw me it turned into "PUSH ME PLEASE!!!" All I could do was smile and run to the swings.
