About Me

CURRENT MISSION

hearing, listening and acting on my 'first' voice

ABOUT ME

traveled a lot... africa, south america, europe.
always loved getting to know people.. people are first and foremost importance in life, to me.

my raison d'etre: my two nieces:
my brother's adopted daughter from china... 12 now... i wanna go to china with her one day.

other brother's daughter: 1/2 austrian, 17 now, goes regularly, speaks german.

i speak a little spanish... wanna get fluent in that and tango.

PHILOSOPHY

tell the flippin' truth.
the closer relationship i have with death, the more alive i feel, and the more truthful i live.
create art wherever and whenever i can.
living in community and practicing meditation (in whatever form that takes for you) - is the key to wellness and peace within and without.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

real, authentic depth and intimacy with people, animals, the earth.

being with children.
cats - domestic; wild, even better.
being with and helping others with death and dying.
lately, renewal judaism.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

great pyramid cairo, egypt, midnight, halloween, laying in king's chamber sarcophagus, being chanted over, audibly declaring my essence to the chamber's echoing resonance.

the birth of my friend's son. i videotaped the whole thing.

being with my mom thru her 4-1/2 month dying journey from pancreatic cancer... the most paradisial experience of my life. we were very close. and she died with a grace and honesty i hope i can match.

helicopter over the zambezi river, in zimbabwe after a class 5&6 rapids run... where we overturned twice, and i cracked my ribs.

bungee jumping over the hudson river in manhattan. it was shutdown shortly thereafter... insurance issues.

swinging out over a canyon in zambia, then a free fall drop (in a harnass)- and a 45 minute hike back up.

helicopter over hoardes of wild animals in south africa.

standing at source of the blue nile, ethiopia. heck, ethiopia in general where i met a 42 yr old woman, looking 75, living in a tiny dirt floor hut w/her husband and 5 kids, cooking over a little fire, all possessions hung in a few plastic bags up high to avoid the regular flooding... saying to us... "we worried and sorry for your troubles and send you prayers..." this was four months after 9/11/2001. she was worried about us!
