About Me

Mission: To make friends & eat the foods
Alaska is home, I could travel all over the world, but I'll always end up back here. Good friends, music and food, are a huge part of my life. And eyebrows,
Anytime I'm not at work you'll probably find me out enjoying the Alaskan beauty! (it's all about snow stars & bonfires)

PHILOSOPHY

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It’s been a few years sincerely I’ve been able to really travel, and I’d love to start again. This seemed like a solid way to start!

Music, Movies, and Books

A basic idea of some of the more widely known... In no order whatsoever...
Tsunami Bomb, Walls of Jericho, 36 Crazyfists, Dustin Kensrue, Reel Big Fish, On Broken Wings, Sublime, Story of the Year, Letter Kills, New Found Glory, Social D., Benny Goodman, Johnny Cash, Dilated Peoples, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Gym Glass Heroes, Head Automatica, Jason Mraz, Spitalfield, Jimmy Eat World, Jenny Owens Young, Lilly Allen, Midtown, (Old) The Offspring, Pantera, Rage Against the Machine, Rancid, Saves the Day, Silverstein, Spill Canvas, Matisyahu, Weezer, 311, Bob Marley...
I like any movies that'll give me a good laugh, I do NOT deal well with gruesome stuff like torture, but somehow I really enjoy good bloody fight scenes, (kinda contradicting I know) but I do love a good plot line no matter what it is,
Orson Scott Card's my favorite author, right along side Douglas Adams. I really reallllllllllllllly really want to read "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've ever viewed in life are the Turnagain Arm Beluga Whales that come to feed right around Anchorage. I know where they feed and when, so one day when I was working as a promotor for a local bar, I brought a guest comedian, Jerry Rocha, to drive around, get some good eats, and see some beautiful Alaskan scenery. On the way back to Anchorage from Girdwood a small pod of Belugas was feeding along the Turnagain arm and we stopped to watch. I pointed out what I thought was a Bore Tide and when it got closer I squeaked and started jumping up and down, it was 15 or so adult Belugas swimming top speed fin to fin herding a school of Hooligan against a rocky drop off just 10 feet off the road! Once they got close enough they circled around the fish and took turns diving into the middle to parkake in the little morsels. It was such a beautiful day

Teach, Learn, Share

I work with a clay called pascalite. I urge you to look it up and try it out. It was the beginning of a huge point of change in my life, where I began to learn how to take better care of myself, becoming healthier and therefor happier and happier with each day! I use it to heal peoples Skin conditions. I use it personally to wash and exfoliate with, and even for brushing my teeth! Some people even take it as a supplement and for deodorant. If you use it as a masque or pack on your skin, as a skin therapist I will only give you one piece of advice different from the family that sells it. Do NOT let it dry, it will suck the life out of your skin. Instead, leave it moist, and it will keep a more than healthy transfer of good replacing bad and concentration of your body's natural healing powers to the area. Good luck, I hope it helps you as much as it has me!
