midwesterner at heart, went off to university in montreal, fled to the maritimes, then to new zealand. now i am in melbourne. it appears i am drawn to places beginning with "m", but am moving up in the alphabet.

i will quote a vague acquaintance out of context for this one, cause i'm not sure i could sum it up any better: "i'll live until i die no matter what. but how will i create the world?"

i've just signed up in anticipation of meeting some awesome people on an upcoming trip through New Zealand. so, not so much participation so far, but i'm pretty excited! when i'm settled enough to do so i definitely plan on hosting.

Music, Movies, and Books

books: i'll be interested in most anything you put in front of me. i especially like kelly link, jeanette winterson, ishmael by daniel quinn, edward abbey, philip k dick, and neil gaiman. because i'm an english student i will also confess to a deep-seated love of chaucer, and because part of me is still 10 i have a not-so-secret affection for young adult fantasy.

music: leaning toward the folky end of things, but i can get into pretty much anything.

Teach, Learn, Share

i can teach you to knit, some basic guitar, and tips on brewing your own beer. i can also give you a (very) amateur tarot reading, and cut your hair. i want to learn about bike repair, and all about the secret cool parts of wherever you live. yeah skill exchange! i really like this section.
