ABOUT ME

I'm Shannon and I'm moving to LA in September to be a film actress!! In 2009 I went on a fabulous backpacking trip in Europe and finished my theater degree at UMASS. My life goal now is to pursue film acting.I think life is about having fun, living in the moment, and experiencing every day to the fullest. I love being outdoors and around nature. I consider myself a sort of modern hippie and have been a vegetarian most of my life. I value originality, honesty, and creativity.I come from a big Irish family and was a competitive Irish dancer. I love doing anything creative especially theater, painting, dance, writing poems, playing music. I like visiting places with interesting architecture, gardens, historical significance, or a place that knows how to have a good time!

PHILOSOPHY

I recently became a Buddhist so I believe in peace, equality, and living a violence free life. I think creativity feeds the soul and frees the mind and so does a good book. I think the best way to learn about yourself is to travel and challenge what you know everyday. I truly believe every person deserves to be respected as the unique person they are!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now im in the process of moving but once i get set up in LA I would love to have surfers stay with me. I am always up for meeting people out and having fun whether that be at a bar or getting tea somewhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had two friends I met in my Europe come stay and crash on my couch this past year. One of those friends had awesome adventures with the people he met on this site so I thought i'd join up. This kind of sharing your space, meeting people, showing them your area is something I love so I hope to have some great adventures too!

I think the most amazing thing for me is to see a dream come true... for instance ever since I was little I wanted to go to Paris when I finally saw the Eiffel Tower it was like my whole world stopped. Cliff jumping in Jamaica was epically awesome! Seeing the fall foliage on Mount Washington was another highlight. Being in Edinburgh for the fringe festival was insane I have never seen so much passion on every street corner!

I can teach about Nichiren Buddhism and the philosophy behind it. I love a good psychological/sociological discussion. I love to learn languages especially songs!!!
