About Me

hello! I'm trying to take my time in life. I want to travel the US as much as I can. My heart very much feels like it's in the southwest. I've never been to the eastern side of the US. I grew up on a reservation and had a lot of fun. I am never going back to Texas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel and make new friends. I'm trying this thing where I surround myself with people who are full of life and love.

Interests

I like a nice balance of indoor and outdoorsy type things. I could stay in bed all day and the next day go for a 10 mile hike. I'm super interested in finding opportunities to try new things. Going out of my comfort zone is getting easier and easier with each new experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like a good variety of music and am open to most. To name a few : Andrew Bird, Beirut, Mac Demarco, Shakey Graves, William Elliot Whitmore, Little Dragon, mewithoutyou, Cass Mccombs and Cold Foamers.
Movies are neat-o. Most popular movies are popular for a reason and I like them. I'm not a huge movie buff, but like looking around for good documentaries. I typically watch thru-hike videos when I'm bummed or need motivation.
Books! I'm really into anything that talks about nature. I've read Wild, A Sand County Almanac, The Monkey Wrench Gang, Black Sun, Fire Season. The Maze Runner series was interesting. I like history books, currently reading The Big Burn and 1491.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've managed to find something I'm passionate about. Trail work. The conservation world has done me very well. I can't get over the great work I've done and the great people I've met, all fighting for the same thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I lead trail crews in the front and backcountry. It has inspired me to empower others.
I hope to continue this line of work until my body hurts too much.
I'm looking forward to learning more about everyone I meet. We all have such unique life stories. I'd love to play Knuck Tats with people!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I try to be a good cook. I can always bring and share beer. I have some interesting life experiences, maybe some scary stories and I'm always eager to listen.
