I have been working in the youth work field for many years and Ive recently come back from a sabbatical for a year. Im still excited about travel and meeting new people and sharing my life with others, really its all about friends.
I'm someone that likes to keep fit, I swim and do laps most days, love to ride my bike and am part of a dragon boat group. Im also interested in culture and arts and paint and draw as well as do pottery and other creative pursuits. I spent 6 weeks two years ago at a school for fine cabinetmaking in Vancouver and really enjoy making furniture.

When Im in Sydney Im happy to host people and have a lovely place close to the city and water.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to meet new people and experience their lives and share mine wth them. Fun friends and new experiences inspire me. Im not really into big crowds or parties but enjoy meeting people one on one or in small groups. I really like cooking for people, I think couch surfing is a good way to meet new people and make good friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

IMMM Im into Rufus at the moment, Sam Smith Bon Iver and blues and other artists. I really like Newzealand novelists, Im just reading Annie Proux at the moment, I love her books. Im a bit of a romantic so like stories about place emotion and peoples lives. Ive just finished two books by Armested Maupin, really good.
Ive also been reading books by Donna Tartt an amazing author.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have established a service called Weave Youth and Community Services for disadvantaged young people in Redfern and am proud of this. I feel close to the community and work closely with first nations people to make the community a healthier and happier.

I am a trained counsellor so a pretty good listener
I would love to share bike trips with people
I enjoy the beach and swimming so can show you the best beaches in sydney
I would love to spend time with someone who is a cabinetmaker and improve my carpentry skills
