ABOUT ME

I have a constant upward goal of achieving enlightenment and self peace.

I was born in the San Joaquin Valley of California, the heart of agriculture in CA. My father moved the family across country quite often, which instilled in me the traveling bug. I spent a lot of time in LA and Orange Counties which helped hone my taste for sea foods and music!

On an adventure two months after my 21st birthday I set out to see the East Coast, Boston to be exact. What was to be a short stop in Omaha, NE to see some friends has quickly turned into an 18 year stay. (I have yet to see Boston). A previous company that I worked with sent me to the Philippines where I lived for a few months. With a short stop in Japan, and my stay in Manila, I quickly fell in love with Global Travels! The Orient opened my eyes to the ideas of Eastern Culture, Beliefs and Religions.

I am currently a divorced father of a wonderfully talented 10 year old son. So, when I am not working, I am typically at home, out enjoying a great cup of Chai or spending time with my son.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to be a world-citizen in a sense that I will never have bias (which I know may be impossible) or just simply never be ethnocentric about my own culture

I am just beginning my participation with Couch Surfing. I have had a few friends recommend it as a great way to see the world and to meet other fellow travelers. It seemed only obvious that my first step would be to begin hosting myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can enjoy just about any style or genre of movies. I always find it fascinating to see a story line unfold through the eyes of another.

Due to my constantly crazy schedules I have not done much reading as of late. However, I have always been a great fan of words and the profound impact that they can have on someone be it in a note, book, or even song.

I completely open to trying all music. I will never turn down listening to an album. I can listen to anything from Gregorian Chant to the sounds of today. I have some pretty high standards when it comes to music for my own tastes, it's simple, I like what I like and you have your opinions too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the most amazing things I have seen in this world have been the birth of a child, the sunrises and sunsets and compassion from one human being to another.
