Hello! My name is Shane and I'm from Ireland. I'm currently living and working in Sydney, loving life by the beach.

Last year I rode my bicycle from Ireland to the southern tip of Iran over the course of 6 months, and met so many amazing people through CS along the way.

About my house: I live in Manly, and work in Sydney CBD. Manly is simply stunning, and a short commute by ferry from the city centre. My place is right on the beach, and although it's not the biggest or fanciest in the world, the location can't be beaten!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love experiencing cities through the eyes and recommendations of the locals. It's the best way to see and learn about a new unfamiliar place. The people I have met through CS have totally amazing, not had a bad experience yet.

While I'm settled, I'd like to be able to give back to the world by helping out people, the same way I was helped when I was cycling.

Interests

I'm a scratch golfer. Or at least I was when I last played!
I love travelling.
I'm interested in the world - the people, places and experiences that I have yet to meet, see and experience!
I'm not a cyclist....despite what my bike tour might have you believe.
I'm into all things sports related, and have a job that I really enjoy, which allows me to travel and work with many of the top sports teams in the country and world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I always find these ones difficult. It's one of those things that you feel you have to say artists, movies, books and stuff that nobody has heard of, making you seem all cool, alternative and mysterious.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook, but appreciate being cooked for just as much! No meat or dairy here though.
I have a surfboard. I'm learning, but can share my limited knowledge. If anyone has a lot of knowledge, they can teach me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A couple of beers and a good laugh. I can talk and listen in equal measures, so hopefully we'll get to know each other pretty well.
I can take a look at your golf swing if you're struggling with that!
