CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel Europe for 5 weeks without a plan. I want to have a raw adventure and figure out what the next chapter of my life is going to be all about.

ABOUT ME

I am a guy who grew up in Michigan, USA, then decided to make movies. I went to the Florida State University Film School in Tallahassee FL where I made movies all year round for two and a half years. I then traveled out to Los Angeles where I slept on a buddy's couch and did an internship at a production company.

I just graduated from college and now I'm supposed to start my life in the "real world". But I want to have a big ol adventure before I get stuck in a job or realize I have to start paying off my college debts. Therefore, I'm traveling to Europe for five weeks. Call it soul searching, or finding myself, but I realized that I'm getting ready to do some big things with my life and I would like a small vacation from my four straight years of schooling by going on a grand adventure where I can decide to do whatever I want, when I have the urge.

PHILOSOPHY

"Use your imagination" was the best bit of advice I was ever given.

Throughout my life, I have compared different grades, people, and events to chapters in the Book of Shane. But after graduating college, I realized everything changes. I have to be much more independent and be ready to tackle to world. Therefore, moving on from college is not just a new chapter in my life, but an whole new book in the Shane's Life Series.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I have done nothing.

My buddy and film school companion just told me about this site one week before I leave for Europe. But hopefully I will have a sweet time with some strangers-turned-friends all over Europe. I don't know. Let's have an adventure.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I moved out to Los Angeles three weeks after getting an internship. I had not planned to move out there (from Florida) but just did it. A buddy of mine let me stay on his girlfriend's roommate's couch. We had a great time and that kind roommate and I, who had absolutely no idea who I was , are now great friends and frequently get together to watch movies or play some Rockband.

兴趣

I play guitar and drums and toy around with various other instruments. I have always wanted to play the trumpet, but just make silly noises every time I try. But I just that's how it all starts out...

I'm also a writer and coffee drinker. I explore and create adventures to keep myself entertained.

I want to experience a different culture. I want to hangout all over Europe and discover how people spend their time and order their food. I want to listen to new music and watch new films. I will need some help with languages and etiquette .

I want a better understanding of the people I share this world with. So I'm traveling to see who's out there.
