About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Become more fluent in my Mandarin

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a diverse, crazy household. Speaking English to my dad, French to my mom and Dutch at school I've become pretty fluent in these three languages. I was born on the small island of Boracay in the Philippines and I believe these island vibes have never left me :) If it were up to me i'd walk bear foot for the rest of my life haha. I'm generally quite happy and always up for a party! Although being a couch potato from time to time is something I can't deny...

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm all about that bass bout that bass. Just kidding, I hate that song. But then again I don't discriminate, I embrace all kinds. Jazz, Blues, techno, deep/tech house, indie, funk, reggae, hip hop, soul. I've actually recently discovered audiobooks, listening to "Genghis Khan and the making of the modern world". Great while biking!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Near-to-death experience kiteboarding in San Andrés (Columbia). I got caught in the eye of a storm and ended up being hurled into the air ten to fifteen meters. Unable to control my kite I was being flown closer and closer to the beach. Just as I was getting ready for the impact on the palm trees the wind dropped, I fell just before the shore and released my kite. The kite flew into the trees hitting a concrete wall on the way and was torn to pieces. This experience left me pretty awestruck and humbled by mother nature.

One the most scenic moments of my life was probably up in the mountains of Panay (Philippines). Watching the sunset atop the Nagata waterfall. At the time I was still with my girlfriend. It seemed like time stopped and I was just engulfed with the surreal natural beauty and the magic of the moment.
