About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Looking for instinctive love in humanity. Balancing between serendipity and conformity.

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from Hong Kong. This is my 6th year living/studying in the US. I first lived in the beautiful southwestern state of New Mexico, where I went to United World College-USA for two years. I had the opportunity to hike on the Grand Canyon, to visit cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles and Minneapolis, and to spend three weeks with a friend in a small town in Arkansas, where I enjoyed a lot of Southern hospitality.

Then 4 years ago I came to Hanover, New Hampshire to start college. I went to Russia on a language study-abroad program for 10 weeks in summer 2010. It was a very rewarding experience. I loved the beautiful Russian cities (both ancient and modern) and how bluntly honest the Russians were :)

Going to school in New England has given me lots of opportunities to visit cities in the Northeast - Boston, New York City, Philadelphia - and in Quebec - Montreal and Quebec City. I surfed someone's couch in Boston through Hospitality Club (seems like no one uses it anymore...) spring 2010. However, the first time I actually couchsurfed using CS was when I was visiting Montreal for spring break 2011. My host Kenny was amazing.

More recently, I was living in Washington DC for an internship during summer 2012. My landlords were from the Czech Republic, and my housemates were from Portugal, Bangladesh and New Zealand respectively. It was amazing living in such an international environment. I hope I can meet more interesting people from all over the world!

PHILOSOPHY

Try to be as honest to your heart as you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am kinda like a coconut. It may seem difficult to break through my cold, hard exterior, but once you've gotten to know me better, I'll start treating you like a good friend. It may take several hours to break my cold exterior, or perhaps just a few drinks ;) But even if we don't click, I'll still at least be a respectful guest :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I mentioned above, I've "officially" surfed someone's couch only in Montreal, but I've "unofficially" surfed couches in the Bay Area, the LA area, Boston and Barcelona. Also WWOOFed in Bavaria, Germany.

Interests

Singing, traveling, watching good movies, having random but seemingly "deep" and philosophical conversations with friends...

Music, Movies, and Books

Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Truman Show, Goodbye Lenin, Memento, 127 hours...

New discovery: Psychic Babble. He's superb. Also, Rachael Yamagata has an awfully sexy and expressive voice.

Still trying to finish The Age of Reason. Have also been meaning to read more Russian literature, but most Russian novels are tragic. Perhaps I should focus more on Gogol's lightheartedly sarcastic short stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking on the Grand Canyon for 5 days

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Poland, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, United States
