About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To sing jazz in smoky paris nightclubs and to have a wrought iron balcony

ABOUT ME

I am a generally happy and optimistic person who loves to laugh and have a good time! I like to think of myself as genuine and down to earth and someone who enjoys people for who they are.

I also love to learn and have spent most of the last 10 years travelling and working abroad. Travelling perfectly encompasses many of the things that I love, meeting new people and discovering new places, trying new foods and finding new inspiration. It also encouraged a love of photography, plenty of time is spent in the dark room these days: )

I have many varied interests which take up my time, I love singing and specialise mainly in old Jazz standards, I am an artist and involved in the running of a local studio and gallery!, I love listening to music and collecting records. Love going to markets, love cooking and love having a cold glass of wine on a summers day with friends.

PHILOSOPHY

In life,I guess its really important to laugh a lot, and to live in the moment as much as possible.
I have studied theravada buddism and try to apply some of these principles to my life although i dont strictly follow any religious doctrine and try to take the best aspects from all of them. Being welsh, admittedly im a bit of a socialist at heart,am also interested in the ideas of Walter Benjamin, John Berger, and Guy Deboard. Im a hopeless romantic and try to live as poetically as possible often to ridiculous extremes.
In my work it is my aim to create something beautiful amidst the chaos of contemporary living, something both culturally relavant and politically resonant.

Interests

I love cities, art, photography, music, world cinema, coffee, wine, storytelling, dreaming, history, culture, colour, old british comedies like the goon show, film noir, banquets, abandoned buildings, maps, prayer flags, birdcages, landscapes, french new wave, graffiti, old photographs, spicy food, situationalism, iconography, martinis, texture, silent films, punk, love and garbage
