Overview
About Me
I am an open minded and easy going guy. At least that's what the people around me have told me thus far. On the flip side of it, these people have also often laughed uncomfortably at my weird sense of humor so well, there we go!
I have spent much of my life in Academia and I am currently doing my Ph.D in the Max Planck Institute in Marburg, Germany. While here, I would love to take advantage of Germany's location and travel as much as I possibly can both inside and around the place. After all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. All you need to take from that is the fact that I AM A BIG FAN OF THE SHINING.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have always been somewhat of an extrovert and the very possibility of meeting new people in new locations from different cultures and backgrounds and trading stories with one another is refreshing and stimulating. Another reason that I am on Couchsurfing is the sheer pleasure of getting to know locals and getting to know the locale through the locals. There is nothing like the local experience, I have been told and I am glad that CS is a platform that offers it. =)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved to Marburg, a small town after having lived only in big cities. I know it isn't an amazing thing, per se, but I honestly feel like it's life-changing (No idea in which sense just yet).
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to teach people about caring about some of the most insignificant things in life. I know there is no such thing but I would love people to be truly and absolutely get attached to Game of Thrones. Give me a day and I would have only covered 0.1% of how passionate I feel about that franchise. Also, give me a day and I would only have covered 0.1% of how that doesn't really matter to anyone else in the world unfortunately. I would also love to teach people Tamil and Hindi, if they feel like learning Indian languages just for the heck of it. Additionally, Indian classical music is something where I have quite a bit of experience in so that's also teachable.
I would love to learn and deeply care about different cultures around the world. I would love to learn how to cook a wide array of vegetarian dishes (me being one) from different parts of the world. New languages and new dance moves (Oh yes, I am always on the lookout for new dance moves)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Most of my experiences have some form of intercultural basis in them and I guess this is one of the main reasons that they have some form of color to them. These could be as simple as mixing up words and ending up in sentences that would otherwise be inappropriate or as complicated as trying to get a family to host your traditions solely based on their knowledge of you as a person who uses way too much oil in his food and could anytime turn every corner of their house into a fire hazard.
