Hi there! My name is Shannon, I grew up in the mountains of Appalachia and fell in love with traveling when I started taking trips around the US as a teenager. My first trip abroad sealed the deal on my travel addiction. I love anything outdoorsy - hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, kayaking. I'm always ready to try something new (and maybe sometimes a little risky). I travel for new experiences, I believe it is the best way to learn and grow as a person. I also want to get the most authentic experience, tourist spots are not usually on my radar, and mixing with the locals is my favorite thing :)

I'm a self proclaimed metalhead, but really I can jam to just about anything.
I like bands like Clutch, Mastodon, Machine Head, QOTSA, Tool, the Protomen, Deftones.

I have a slight book obsession and I'm running out of room for all of mine at home. I read a good mix of everything and I'll probably be carrying my latest read with me if we meet :) I do really love the classics though and Wuthering Heights is probably my favorite.

As for movies, I have seen SO MANY. If you like to talk movies I'm your gal. Some of my favorites are There Will Be Blood, The Shining, Goodfellas, Kill Bill, Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder any day), and basically anything with Tom Hardy in it.
