Salut! Moi c'est Shannon, étudiante de physique empassionée de photographie, sport, voyage, randonner et bien plus. Je viens de commencer un engagement chez CERN, et je vais passer l'année prochaine à Lausanne comme étudiante échange à EPFL. Je suis née à Toronto (Canada) et j'ai passé la plupart de ma vie là bas, mais j'avais habité aussi à Montréal pendant mes études de Bachelor, et même à Vancouver pendant quelques mois. My name is Shannon, and I am a physics student at McGill University. I am passionate about photography, sport, travel, hiking, and lots more! I have just moved to Geneva to start work at CERN, and will be living in Lausanne for the next year as an exchange student at EPFL. Born in Toronto, Canada and have spent most of my life there, but I have also lived in Montreal while studying towards my bachelor's degree, and even in Vancouver for a few months. 我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

L'été passé à Montmartre (Paris), j'ai rencontré par hasard un homme très actif dans la communauté de Couchsurfing. Tout ce qu'il m'a raconté - à propos des endroits moins traversés qu'il avait exploré en restant avec un hôte de couchsurfing, les gens qu'il s'était lié d'amitié avec, et même les expériences bizarres qu'il avait vécu - m'a attrayé immédiatement. J'adore apprendre à mieux connaître des nouvelles endroits (et moi-même) à travers les autres, et il me paraît que Couchsurfing facilite parfaitement ce genre de découverte!

Last summer in Montmartre (Paris), I had a chance encounter with someone who is very active in the Couchsurfing community. Everything that he told me about the less-travelled places that he had explored while staying with a couchsurfing host, the friends he had made, and even the weird experiences he had had attracted me immediately. I love to get to know new places (and myself) through other people, and it seems to me that Couchsurfing is the perfect platform to do so!

My music interests are both diverse and intensive! David Bowie is the artist of my life, but I am also a huge lover of classical music, especially of an impressionistic style (in the style of Ravel and Rachmaninoff). Other frequently occurring names in my music listening repertoire include: Caetano Veloso, Frédéric Chopin, Arcade Fire, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, Kamasi Washington, Thundercat, Gustav Mahler, Anderson .Paak, etc. etc.
In terms of books, Kurt Vonnegut and Albert Camus are my favourite authors. I am currently reading Gaspard de la nuit by Aloysius Bertrand.

Je suis toujours disposée à aider à faire le ménage, à cuisiner, ou n'importe quoi d'autre! Donnez-moi des taches et je les ferai avec plaisir; c'est ma façonne de vous remercier pour votre hospitalité :)
De plus, si vous aimez causer et se décontracter en découvrant de la nouvelle musique, je suis sûrement l'invitée parfaite. J'adore partager ma musique préférée, en tant que mes connaissances sur les artistes et l'époque à laquelle la musique avais été créée, avec les autres. Et s'il vous faut de la motivation pour aller courir, ça me ferait plaisir de m'entraîner avec vous!

Furthermore, if you like to hang out and discover new music, I'm definitely the perfect house guest! I love sharing my favourite music, as well as my knowledge about the artists and the epoque during which the music was created, with others. Plus, if you need some motivation to go for a run, I'd always be happy to train with you!
