Hey, I'm Shannon! I'm a 26 and currently living in Chicago, IL, USA. I caught the travel bug during a trip to Europe when I was 17 and have been hooked ever since. Traveling and meeting new people keeps me refreshed and ready to take on whatever life throws my way. I was originally born and raised in Vermont and moved out to Chicago in 2014. I love living in a big city during this time of my life, but I am so thankful for my small town roots. It helps me keep everything in perspective 😊

MUSIC: I'm a huge fan of 1960-80s music including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, Talking Heads, The Smiths, U2. I could listen to Motown music forever. For more modern bands, I'm into Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, Bastille, The xx, alt-J, Glass Animals, Young the Giant, Alabama Shakes, Black Keys, Fleet Foxes, Janelle Monae, LCD Soundsystem, Disclosure, Mac Demarco, STRFKR, The Strokes.

MOVIES: I like basically all genres except films full of gore. I will expand more on this section in the future, but for now, I can quote every line to School of Rock like my life depends on it.

BOOKS: Fiction, fantasy, suspense, biographical. I like Margaret Atwood, Junot Diaz, Gillian Flynn, Stephen King, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Oscar Wilde. I also grew up in the thick of Harry Potter mania, so I'll always love discussing those books and films, too.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Spontaneously went to Iceland for three days. I was backpacking in Europe on a one way ticket and reached the end of my time (and $$) in Berlin. A flight home with a layover in Iceland ended up being significantly cheaper than flying direct from Germany, so I just went with it! Their soccer team ended up qualifying for their first ever World Cup while I was there, so the atmosphere was incredible. Best detour ever.
