To see the world...I am in the middle of a Round The World Trip!

ABOUT ME

I am easy going, relaxed and LOVE to travel. I am currently 1 year in to a round the world trip. I love experiencing new places, people, and especially food! :-) I have had people say to me that if I have the money for a RTW trip then I must have money for hostels. I do often stay in hostels while traveling. However for me couch surfing is less about the free bed and more about the people I meet along the way. I love sharing stories with hosts and other surfers. Staying with locals and seeing first hand what life is like in other countries. Visiting markets and local restaurants is what has made my trip amazing so far! I can't wait to experience the people, cultures, and foods on the rest of my trip.

Live, laugh, love...take things one day at a time...and no use in getting or staying mad about most things...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently traveling, so only surfing but next year when I'm home and settled I would welcome surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Last year I had no couch surfing experience. Now I have stayed with some really great hosts and had one not so great experience. Overall I think this site is a pretty great way to meet all different kinds of people all over the world.

Interessi

I am happy traveling, hiking, swimming, relaxing, seeing a museum. As long as I am seeing something new it is a good day. I'm not a huge drinker, I would rather sit and chat over 1 or 2 beers, or wine than go to a loud bar. I am doing this for the experience of meeting new people...can't do that easily in a loud club. Plus a year of travel for a backpack does not allow for many "clubbing clothes" to get packed :-)

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

In January 2012 I travelled to Laos and Thailand with 3 other friends. I really enjoyed watching the giving of alms on the quiet morning streets of Luang Prabang.

The cliffs of Etre Tat in Upper Normandy were beautiful. The construction in Petra, and the Sphinx and pyramids is breathtaking. One of the most amazing things I have done is jumped from the ledge into Devil's Pool and hung over the edge of Victoria Falls. "Don't jump into the bubbles," our guide says, "you could be taken over the falls by the current."

I just returned from 7 months in South America and all I can say is WOW. Buenos Aires, Salkantay and Machu Picchu, Easter Island, Tayrona National Park, Galapagos Islands, Salar de Uyuni, San Blas Islands. I missed out on Patagonia, but at least there is a reason to return.

Still to come: US Road trip, Australia, New Zealand, and Great Barrier reef, Siam Reap, a return to Luang Prabang...I hope the next year will leave me breathless. :-)
