About Me
***ATTENTION*** I only consider hosting those who have references (from friends, hosts, or guests) and have a profile that is completely filled out. I also get a lot of really generic copy-paste messages (sometimes with the wrong name haha). Please take the time to write a personalized message- I want to hear more about you and also see that you took the time read my profile as it makes a better experience for everyone. Thanks!
CURRENT MISSION
Current mission? In constant pursuit of the perfect balance between work, play, and leisure in Montreal.
ABOUT ME
Hmm what to say. I'm an American who's always been fascinated by francophone culture (and travel in general). I'm working on a PhD in Education and moved to Montreal a few years ago to pursue that after living in Lyon for 4 years. I'm unapologetically nerdy, but don't worry I'm a well socialized nerd. I love cooking, doing ballet, sharing meals, drinks, and embarrassing stories with friends, new and old alike. I laugh easily and hard.... maybe even a snort here and there (super charming!)
PHILOSOPHY
Why not?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As my schedule can be hectic act times, I mostly use couchsurfing to meet up with other travelers, show people around the city, and go to different couchsurfing meetups. I like to host when my schedule permits, but I typically cannot accept reservation that are far in advance.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I wasn't able to fly home for christmas my first year in Lyon, so here I was in another country with no plans. I posted on couchsurfing and it turns out that I wasn't the only Christmas orphan. Within just a few hours I was invited to Christmas dinner with another couch surfer and about 12 other Christmas orphans. I think we ended up having about 10 nationalities between the 12 of us. I honestly can't think of a better way to spend the holidays than over a meal and wine with a bunch of strangers :). Since this great first initial experience, I host from time to time :).
Interests
New people, trading silly travel mishaps, ballet, live music and theatre, sightseeing, tea, drinks on a patio, things of the nerdy variety, long nights talking about everything and nothing. One thing I've really gotten into is trying to take a local ballet classes in every new city I visit, so if you ever want to join me for a class, let's go!!! I think I'm up to 14 cities, and 7 countries and hoping to add more !
