I grew up in central Illinois, and the more I'm away from home, the more I appreciate having grown up in a small town in the Midwest. I love literature, history, film, writing, singing in the shower, traveling, wondering ... I'm fascinated by other cultures and ways of life. When I travel, I like to soak up a place and try to understand it as it understands itself.

I am new to the couch surfing experience but very keen to be involved. I've heard good things about it, and I know I want to return the generosity & hospitality that has been shown to me in past travels, whether by family, friends, or strangers.
