About Me
ABOUT ME
I like to think of myself as adventurous, kindhearted and fun. I love to travel and learn, read and write. I studied evolutionary biology at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA USA. I have since returned to my hometown to work with the local food movement and begin my midwifery apprenticeship. Cooking and organic farming have become real passions of mine in recent years.
I love exploring the wonders of nature; to me there is nothing more beautiful, interesting or humbling then biological systems at work. To me, life is about finding and creating common human experiences so that we may gain trust and respect for each other and therefore, for the planet. I try to be politically active and take part in changing the things I wish to be different, although I am often distracted by how wonderful somethings already are.
PHILOSOPHY
Milk and honey.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have had some wonderful experiences surfing couches throughout France, Haarlem, Amsterdam, Brugges, Turkey and Spain. So far, I have found all the people who are involved in CS be to incredibly helpful, interesting and open minded. Being part of the CS community has quickly become one of my favorite parts of traveling and being human. I cannot say thank you enough to those who have created and sustained this website!
Interests
First and foremost, backpacking and hiking. Although I also love picnics, photography, yoga, biking, dancing, reading, writing, learning, traveling, live music, cooking and baking... The best part is that I'm sure there are a million more things that I'm interested in, I just don't know they exist yet.

Music, Movies, and Books
BOOKS: This list could go on for ages, but these are the ones that come to mind first: The Elegance of the Hedgehog, The Selfish Gene, Harry Potter, The Red Tent, The Extended Phenotype and Winnie the Pooh.
MUSIC: I love folk music from all around the world! I will be happy listening to anything I can dance to and just about anything with piano in it. Right now I've been listening to a lot of: Yann Tiersen, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Passion Pit, The Black Keys, The Temptations, and Coeur de Pirate.
MOVIES: Although I do like movies, I prefer watching nerdy BBC nature specials. But I will always be happy to watch: Amelie, The Secret Garden, Planet Earth (not really a movie, I know).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oh my! There are too many amazing things I've seen/done to begin counting, but I will say hiking The Wonderland Trail and through Evolution Basin were bog ones.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach yoga and how to crochet hats. I can share what I know about wilderness survival skills and backpacking (especially recommendations on where to go in Colorado, California and Washington State.)
I would love to learn how to play an instrument. Although from what I hear that takes a while, but you have to start somewhere.
