Overview
About Me
I'm a recent advertising school graduate currently living in Düsseldorf, Germany working as an Art Director.
In the past three years, I have moved countries four times, and moved houses perhaps more than twice that. I've traveled with friends, but I often travel solo and love to experience a place with time and ease. I don't fret over missing a couple tourist spots if I get to enjoy the city a bit more like a local. I enjoy good company for food and drinks, outings to museums, concerts and whatever nightlife offers you. And I always hope to come back.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I became a member of Couchsurfing, I was a college student in Curitiba, Brazil. I studied advertising and often travelled during breaks, discovering and shaping my style of travel. Admittedly I didn't give CS much of a chance.
Since then I have moved to Germany, did a stint in Argentina, and lived half a year in the US. I've given a fair shot to hostels, met some brilliant people, and now I believe I should make an effort for CS.
I'm trying to break personal travel patterns, be more in tune with other people and sharing experiences as I start a new chapter.

Music, Movies, and Books
I wrote this section circa 2011/12, and I'll make notes rather than change it.
Music (2011/12) - Adele, Florence and the Machine, Klee, Phoenix, Snow Patrol, The Beatles.
2018 Note - The Beatles are forever my number one. I've since seen Adele, Florence and the Machine, and Phoenix, live, either in festivals in Brazil or in concert in Germany. I no longer actively listen to Klee or Snow Patrol, but if I make a throwback playlist they'd certainly be featured. Other artists I've seen live since then (in no particular order): Lorde, Urban Cone, Bastille, Lana Del Rey, the Kooks, Foster the People, the Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Two Door Cinema Club, Imagine Dragons, 30 Seconds to Mars, Muse, alt-J, etc.
Movies (2011/12) - Another Earth, Atonement, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pride and Prejudice, Remember Me.
2018 Note - I've probably rewatched all these movies except Remember Me - it doesn't figure in my current lists of movies. This year I managed to watch 5 out 9 Best Picture nominees, my favorites being Call Me By Your Name and Three Billboards. I'm not avert to blockbusters - I watch MCU movies, I like book adaptations -, because I like to be entertained, and I'm a sucker for movies that make me tear up.
Books (2011/12) - Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Harry Potter, Marley and Me, Postsecret.
2018 Note - All these books are in my boxes back at my parent's; Harry Potter and Postsecret being all-time classics. I have yet to reread Extremely Loud, but so far I read other books that have moved and impacted me such as Hanya Yanagihara's A Little Life, and André Aciman's Call Me By Your Name. With this being said, I'm a John Green fan, having read all of his books - I try to keep it light with my reading.
TV (2011/12) - Fringe, Game of Thrones, The Good Wife, Top Chef.
2018 Note - Fringe deserves a rewatch, and so does The Good Wife. Top Chef isn't as exciting as it once was, but the same can't be said about Game of Thrones - it continues to be a favorite. Nowadays I watch a mix of Netflix and network shows. I'll probably soon give up on Grey's Anatomy, which I didn't feature on this list, but lately I've been gravitating toward shorter shows such as Grace and Frankie, The Big Bang Theory, Fresh Off the Boat, Modern Family, The Mick, Rick and Morty, Steven Universe. On the longer scale my standouts are The Magicians, Madam Secretary, Sense8, Lucifer, Elementary, and the one reality RuPaul's Drag Race.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked the Mýrdalsjökull glacier in Iceland in June 2017 (and managed not to die).
Teach, Learn, Share
There's always a realm of knowledge I can delve into. Be it languages, food, TV shows, travel, advertising, art, and more.
What I Can Share with Hosts
The perspective of a Chinese-Brazilian that has experienced many countries as a student, young professional, or as a wanderer. I cook, and enjoy treating others to Brazilian food. I'm a good listener, and give thoughtful advice, being a prime example of "do as I say, not as I do".
