ABOUT ME

Aaron: For the past four or so years I have been working as a photographer in one capacity or another... mostly doing eCommerce work for big box retail stores, but now I/we are primarily traveller... Looking to see what we can see, and have some experiences while we have the chance...

Carissa: I am an executive assistant for an entrepreneur here in Nashville who studies and teaches about alternative medicine and emotional healing using essential oils. I am lucky enough to love my job enough that it doesn't feel like work! In my spare time I enjoy thrifting for vintage house wears, cooking new recipes, and taking walks in the neighborhood with Aaron and our dog Apple :)
I've lived in Nashville for 18 years and love it!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We like the idea of free traveling, the world is immense, and there is so much to see, why regulate who can visit where, by charging for lodging?
We love getting to know other couchsurfers and showing them around the city. Our experience with staying at others' homes is limited but has been enjoyable thus far...we just need to travel more!
Overall, we think it's exhilerating to meet new people from all over the country and world who we may have never met otherwise! It's a small world after all : )

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted a TON, and made lots of great friends in the process. The two of us surfed in Chicago once, and Aaron has surfed solo in Little Rock when he was down there for Photo-work.

Aaron: Photography, Art, Coffee, Friends, Conversation, Literature, Movies, Pocket knife collecting.

Carissa: thrifting at the flea market, outdoor festivals, farmer's markets, doglover, Nashville's independent food scene.

Aaron: Had my vehicle pushed off the road by a U.N. Tank in Haiti (pre-quake) while there was food rioting in downtown Port-Au-Prince.

Carissa: seeing Arctic glaciers in Alaska was breathtaking.

Aaron: I am a photographer, if you bring your camera I'll show you what I know. I'm pretty well versed in all formats and medium types, from antique alternative processes to digital photography.

Carissa: I can teach you how to use essential oils.
