ABOUT ME

I have the worst sense of direction, and I often forget things.

I grew up in a small place, very sheltered, and for a long time was terrified of the world and also had no confidence in myself. I still am both these things to an extent, but have found that, in spite of this, the world can be a grand and interesting place.

I am hungry for experiences, and like cultural exchange. I like travel b/c I think it is a kind of gaining of knowledge- there are things you understand better only after you've seen them, or seen all the different perspectives that put individual pieces of the world into context. Sometimes, experience is also a way to trigger understanding of one's own lack of knowledge- so many mysteries, so many things that can't be easily figured out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing is nice. Sometimes people feed you. Sometimes they show you the local red light district without prompting. I've met some beautiful people through couchsurfing.
