Overview
About Me
I grew up in Singapore,
moved to Brisbane, Australia for university and work from 2013 - 2017,
moved to Sapporo, Japan for a job opportunity in 2017 and I'm still here since.
I'm an English Language Teacher at a Language School and I enjoy going out on the weekends.
I enjoy travelling, exploring cultures, and meeting new people!
I first started going for couchsurfing meetups and events in July 2013 when I first moved to Brisbane, Australia for university. I've met the most amazing people ever since, and even though a lot of us are in different countries now, we'd often catch up in other parts of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to meet more people (both locals / travellers) and expand my social circle here!
I'm also interested in language exchange, as I am currently trying to learn Japanese. It really isn't easy living in Japan not knowing the language!
Interests
I enjoy doing a wide variety of things, depending on my mood. There are days where I just want to do all things spontaneous like travel up the Sunshine Coast or down the Gold Coast, but there are also days where I just want to go to a coffee shop, get a cup of good coffee and read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think one of my most memorable travel experience so far was to be away from my family for a good 15 days for a service learning trip to Laos. I stayed in a villagers' house for 10 days in Pong Song Village and it was there where I got to truly experience the village life. We did things like sugar cane harvesting, charcoal making, bathing in the river (which I didn't do), and also having a picnic by the river which was so much fun. We visited the other villagers' houses and had parties with them, where there was good music and local beer involved. We could buy icy cold fresh sugarcane juices at USD $0.15 a packet, and got to experience the fresh still air every morning as we were surrounded by mountains and greenery.
Also, it was my first time doing construction work like mixing cement, cutting and splitting bamboo, and also layering the ground to build a sheltered pathway for the children at Vang Sa Vanh Primary School.
